Didn't win :(

I have to say that I have never fallen in love with a pair of horses as much as I have for these two. I spent forever on this, even on the story, but I think that it does them justice. Tiny is just so darn lovely, and little Alice has spunk! I am completely in love, more so than I ever have been about a pair of horses. Trust me, if I do get them they might be the most active horses at my stable! So prepare to see a lot more to come on them in the future if I do win! I would also like to apologize for the freaking long story, but I couldn't help myself :) So prepare to read haha! My try for these lovely girls:classyhorse.deviantart.com/art…. The Australian Warmblood breed and imports are all created by the wonderful Sealle
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rowan gazed nervously out the plane window. Before the pilot announced that they would be landing she was bubbling over with excitement. She had always wanted to visit Australia, and on top of that they were going to visit an Australian Warmblood auction. But know her fear of flying began to take over her again, and she began to fidget in her seat. She felt a warm hand on her shoulder and turned to look at Jensen. His soft green eyes had a way of making her calmer.
"Nervous?" He asked while rubbing her shoulder.
"That may be an understatement. Did you see that plane crash that was on the news last week?"
"You know that I wouldn't have dragged you onto this plane if I had any worry."
"I know but-" She was cut off by a holler coming from the seat behind her. They turned around to see Trevor and Becca running down the aisle back to their seats, their arms full of pre packaged peanuts. Rowan raised an eye at her breathless best friend who was grinning ear to ear.
"What are you two doing?" Jensen glared at his brother.
"Getting some snacks to go!" Trevor said while stuffing his backpack full.
"Trevor distracted the flight attendants while snuck into the back and grabbed the snacks!" Becca giggled, causing her short blonde hair to fall in her face.
Rowan and Jensen turned back around, leaving the others to their mischief.
"I swear half the time it's like we are baby-sitting." Jensen chuckled.
"Whats worse is that we aren't even getting paid." Rowan smiled, but quickly grew nervous as the plane started to descend.

KhanCohban Farm was more beautiful than any pictures Rowan had ever seen. After two plane rides and a four hour drive they were finally here at the world renowned equine facilities. After being directed to the barn housing the sale horses they had an hour wait before the auction would begin. Becca walked beside Rowan as they admired each of the Australian Warmbloods. A friendly grey stallion stuck his head out oh his stall and nickered as they walked by. Several other stable owners and trainers from around the world were meandering the barn, and a chestnut mare was being examined by a vet for potential buyers.
"I know that we talked about picking up a potential grand prix stallion, but I'm beginning to think that we need a new hunter." Becca said while glancing back at the small grey stallion. Rowan nodded her head, but she knew that if she had it her way all of these horses would be coming home with her. A tiny scrap against the last stall caught her attention. They walked over to the spacious stall to see a tiny chestnut filly standing in front of her large black mamma. Rowan's heart instantly melted as the mare and foal both walked up to the front of the stall. Rowan placed a hand on the mare's large head, and gazed into the kindest eyes she had ever seen on a horse. Becca bent down as rubbed the filly on the head, who sniffed Becca watch and let out a sneeze that caused her whole body to bounce. Both girls laughed at the little foal, who began to wag her fluffy tail. Rowan looked at Becca, who had grabbed the information card on the pairs stall.
"The mare is Tiny and the cutie-pa-totie is Alice." Becca grinned while handing the card to Rowan. Rowan read every detail on the card, and as she did the smile on her face grew larger.
"I think that we have found the ones." She said while rubbing tiny's cheek. The mare's eyes began to close and she leaned into Rowans hand.
"What happened to "we only need a grand prix horse"" Becca smiled.
Rowan shook her head but was smiling. She couldn't take her eyes off the mares. She had never felt a connection with a horse this quickly, not even with her personal mount Banshee. She could see how Tiny's large body may interfere with tall jumps, but she knew that after some training she could be an amazing field hunter. Little Alice was already a stunning foal, and there was no doubt in Rowan's mind that she could one that be a star in hunter ring. Then suddenly an idea formed in Rowan's head.
"I will be right back." rowan handed the card back to Becca and quickly walked outside. She dialed Jensen's number and tapped her foot as the phone rang.
"Hey, we are in the auction ring talking to the farm's co-owner, did you know that they have an olympic level show jumping ring." Jensen said, the excitement could be heard in his voice.
"I will run it past Matt when we get home, but Jensen I have a question for you." Rowan said while walking down the path.
"Shoot".
"Do you think that we could get Jacques back in the saddle again if we had the right horse?" Rowan could practically hear Jensen choke on the other side. Obviously she may have done the same thing if someone asked her this, but with Tiny she knew that it could do it. Jacques Chevalier had been an olympic ride back in the day, but a tragic cross country accident that resulted in his horse landing on him halted is career as a rider.
"Rowan you do know that the doctor's think its a miracle that he's even able to walk after the accident. His horse crushed his pelvis." Jensen was serious, but a hint of hope was in his voice.
"I know that Jensen, but you've seen the look he gets when one of his students nails a combination or comes out of the show ring with a ribbon in their hand, he misses it."
"I know that he does..." Jensen let out a sigh "What do you have in mind."
"There is a mare here that even the staff will admit is the kindest and gentlest horse they have ever met. She is a little tall, but she is sturdy. If we get one of those therapeutic saddles I know that we can get Jacq back in the game, even if it's only walking or going out on trails." Rowans heart was racing with excitement. Tiny was worth her weight in gold, and now it was Rowan's turn to give back to the mentor that helped raise her and start the farm after her parents died.
"I guess it's worth a shot. Are you sure that she's the one?" Jensen asked.
"There is no doubt in my mind. And on top of that Jen she has a stunning foal who is just as sweet as she is. Her top line is flawless, even on a foal. She would make an excellent hunter, maybe even one that we could take to medal finals." Rowan was practically bouncing with excitement now.
"Well then we better get the check book out." Jensen laughed.
"Once Jacq sees them he will be on board with the plan." Rowan spun on her heel and began to walk back to the barn.
"You better get down her if you want to get a good seat, its starting soon."
"See you in a bit." Rowan hung up the phone and began to jog back to the barn, instantly regretting the heels she had on. The phone conversation had distracted her so much that she had walked almost to the trails that lead to the beach. The outback was chilly, but only enough to require the blazer Rowan had on. The brush rustled as a tiny marsupial popped out that Rowan instantly recognized as a wallaby. The little creature hopped right in front of Rowan and disappeared on the other side of the path. Rowan was not only falling in love with the horses, but this beautiful place as well.

When Rowan finally reached the barn she found Becca sitting inside Tiny and Alice's stall, and the little foal was curiously poking Beccas hair with her nose.
"Ive fallen in love Rowan." Becca giggles as the little filly tried to like her ear. Tiny nickered at Rowan and walked away from the hay she was eating for another pat. Rowan rubbed the mares velvety nose and couldn't help but smile. A girl with blonde hair was cleaning the stall next to Tiny's.
"Excuse me mam, I am Rowan Fell, I own White Lark Creek Stables back in California." Rowan stuck out her hand, which the the girl shook.
"I am Jess, the groom here. Can I help you with anything?" Jess put down the pitch fork and smoothed down her hair.
"Do you happen to know if anyone else is interested in this pair?"
"I do believe that there were one or two buyers who have been by and are planning on putting offers on them." Rowan's heart tightened at hearing Jess's words. She couldn't imagine not coming home with these two>
"Thank you for your time" Rowan nodded to Jess and grabbed Becca's hand to help pull her up.
"We have to get down to that auction ring quickly." Rowan said, she could already fell her body tense with anticipation. Becca gave Alice a kiss on the head before leaving the stall and following Rowan down the crowded stable aisle. Rowan gave one last look over her shoulder to see Tiny looking straight at her as they walked away. She wanted to run back and wrap her arms around the black mares neck, but if there was any hope of getting her they would have to make it inside the auction ring.

Rowan's hands were sweating as she clasped the in her lap. Next to her Jensen was talking to a couple sitting behind the about their thoroughbred breeding program. Bacca squirmed in her seat, trying to hid her nerves, but her blue eyes were watching the horse being lead in the ring. Trevor flipped through the pamplet to exam this certain horses stats. Rowan could see why Trev liked him, the stallions muscles rippled under his glossy dark coat. He was spirited, thats for sure. He trotted in place and swung his head, almost knocking over his handler.
"What about this guy?" Trevor asked just before getting sidetracked by a pair of blondes walking up the line of seats. Becca bumped him with her elbow, causing Trevor to give her an innocent shrug.
"Just wait, the mare and foal are up next." As the bidding for the stallion started and ended, Rowan grew even more anxious, hoping that by the end of the day they would be loading the gentle mare and foal into their airplane. Rowan placed her hand on Jensen's thigh as a new handler lead Tiny in, followed closely by Alice. A smile crept onto Jensen's face as the pair was announced. Becca grinned at all of them, her hand itching to raise and claim the first bid. Trevor mouthed "are these the ones" to Rowan, who nodded excitedly. Trevor gave her a thumbs up and mouthed back "I approve". Rowan smiled and shook her head softly, her gaze shifting back to her beloved pair. Tiny stood calmly, looking at each person in the crowd, almost asking to come up and visit with them. Alice trotted up to her mamma's side, curiosity written all over her excited face. She walked over to her handler and begun to try and un tuck his shirt from his pants. This caused the crowd to let out an "aww", which caused Alice to whinny with glee and start bouncing back around her mom. The starting bid was announced and the crowd drew silent.
Rowan couldn't take her eyes off the pair. Tiny's sweet face instantly made Rowan calmer. She threw her hand up in the air, and the bidding war had begun.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is what will happen next if we do win them:

Rowan woke up even earlier than normal. She leapt out of bed and threw her curtains open. Instead of the welcoming sunshine a blanket of snow was laid over the property. Rowan could barely see the barn in the distance, its warm light gave her peace of mind that all of the horses were tucked safely inside. She threw her warmest pair of riding clothes on and stubbled down the flight of stairs. The two story Victorian house was starting to feel like home. Pictures of Rowan smiling on a chocolate colored pony and Matt playing wit his trucks as children were hung carefully on the stair walls. Rowan always stopped at the last picture, which was of her parents holding two tiny infants in their arms. She kissed her fingers and placed them on the frame before making her way into the kitchen. Her twin Matt sat at the dinning room table eating a bowl of cereal while watching the news. He gave her a wave as she opened the fridge and withdrew a baggie of apple slices for the horses.
"This is the earliest snow we've had in over a decade." Matt said as he used his spoon to point at the news broadcast on the tv screen.
"I'm just glad that we got home when we did, we just missed the snow. By the way, Jensen wants to talk to you about building an olympic level arena." Rowan smiled over her shoulder. Matt brushed a hand threw his sandy hair but smiled. As the official architect of the stables and property, Matt was starting to get used to all of the renovations that were tossed at him.
"Do you want to come with me? I am going to make sure that Tiny and Alice settled in ok." Rowan said while she threw a cap over her dark hair.
"Im good, I got to see them last night. Give Mouse a hug for me. And by the way that saddle that you ordered for Jacq got her last night, it's by the front door!" Matt called after Rowan and she walked outside. The cold air hit her as she jogged up to her car. After turning up the heater she navigated the car down the drive way, which was now covered in snow. Excitement stirred inside of her as her mind raced with the possibility of Jacques being able to ride again. She hadn't told him of her plan quite yet, but once Tiny and Alice got settled in she couldn't wait to get started.

Rowan was welcomed by nickers as she entered the heated barn. She could her the furnace grumble softy as she turned up the heat. Rowan began to divvy out the apples to all of the horses until she reached Tiny and Alice's stall. Instead of being welcomed with the kind eyes that she loved so much the stall was empty. Panic burst inside of her as she began to franticly look around the barn for any sign of the pair. Her heart froze as her eyes landed on the far side barn door, which was open. Rowan ran down to the door and saw hoof prints, some large and others very small, leading out towards the far side of the property and around the barn. She reached into her pocket and drew out her phone, but before her trembling hands could dial Matt's number his face appeared on her buzzing screen. She answered it and threw the phone to her ear.
"Rowan, you better come see this. Tiny and Alice are playing in the field behind the house. There having a blast! Di you let them out?" Matt's charismatic voice made it even more evident that he had no idea how the pair got out.
"heck no I didn't let them out Matty! Stay right there, I am coming up with their halters. Make sure they don't move!"

Rowan pulled the car into park and leapt out. She ran around to the back side of the house to see Matt laughing as Tiny and Alice explored through the snow. Alice stood marveled at this strange white stuff. She shoved her face into a large pile of it, causing her to let out a huge sneeze. She squealed with delight and began bouncing. Tiny bent down and snorted at the snow, causing a spray of it to settle right on her forelock. Turning to see her daughter bouncing off she trotted to catch up to her. Rowen lifted her fingers to her lips and let out a whistle, praying that it would get the mare's attention. Tiny turned around instantly and nickered back at Rowan.
"Tiny, Alice!" Rowan called to them.Tiny whinnied again and begun trotting over to Rowan with Alice in tow. She stopped right in front of Rowan and begun to nibble curiously at her hat. Now Rowan was laughing as Tiny blew hot breath onto her face. She slipped the halter over her head and gave her a big hug. Matt started giggling as Alice begun knocking the bucket full of apples that he had in his hand.
"How do you think the got out?" Matt asked as he gave Tiny an apple, which she crunched happily.
"She must have seen us latch her stall, and figured out how to open it and the door." Rowan begun rubbing warmth back into Tiny.
"Smart girl." Matt said while trying to put a halter on Alice, who wanted to stay and play in the snow some more.
"Very Smart girl. Lets get them back to the barn." Rowan smiled as she lead Tiny back down the hill. Alice took off ahead of them and leapt over a pile of snow like a deer. Rowan felt so proud to call these horses hers, and couldn't wait to start training both of them, and give Jacques back his passion.

Import #20

Show Name: Leave It To Me
Barn name: Tiny
Gender: Mare
Breed: Australian Warmblood
Breed Grading: Quality
Age: 8 years
Height: 17hh
Genetics: Ee-aa-ff
Appearance: Fading Black, with a skewed extended star and snip with 1 sock and a coronet.
Build: Tiny is a big girl all around due to the larger breeds mixed into her bloodlines. She has a thick bone structure, and is completely filled out with muscle tone. While her head is rather large and her back long, her top line and expressive eyes make great assets to this stunning girl.
Personality: Tiny is a gentle giant with an old soul. She can be handled by anyone and everyone, and always puts her human companions first. Her favorite thing in the world is to please, and can even be ridden by tiny children. She loves to simply be groomed, tacked up, or simply just be with people. She will fallow you around the pasture and nicker a welcome when you approach her stall. She has recently given birth to a beautiful filly, and has taken on motherhood wonderfully. She keeps an eye on her little one but will allow anyone to come up and cuddle with her.
Discipline: Field hunter (2ft 6) , therapeutic riding horse, children's mount. She has been trained quite successfully under saddle by her previous owners, and will pop over little obstacles with ease. Due to her build we do not plan on jumping her over 2'6", and we have plans to turn her into a fox hunting champ (no foxes will be hurt in the process of course).
Tack: Happy Mouth rubber snaffle, standing martingale, wide tree saddle. Most of the time the young riders at the barn will hop on her (sometimes three all at once) bareback and ride her around the grounds with just a halter and lead rope.
Stable Colors: Purple
Story Behind Name: Because of Tiny's amazing attitude and gentleness, a name admiring her seemed to be fitting. Leave it to Tiny and she will take care of you no matter what!

Import #21

Show Name: In Wonderland
Barn name: Alice
Gender: Filly
Breed: Australian Warmblood
Breed Grading: Quality
Age: 2 months
Height: expected +16hh
Genetics: ee-Ata-ff-nSb
Appearance: Flaxen Liver Chestnut Sabino with a stripe and snip, 2 irregular socks and 1 normal sock.
Build: She is expected to have a large muscular body like her mother, but more refined and elegant due to her sire. She has a lovely head and top line, as well as long powerful legs. We expect her to grow fairly tall because of her mother's height. She has incredibly bright curious eyes that are set on her lovely little head.
Personality: Despite being young, Alice already displays curiosity and gentleness  like her mother. Due to her age and long foal legs she can be clumsy, and the staff has even found her tangled up in her own legs upon standing. She is a very happy and playful little girl, and she absolutely loves to bounce around and try to shimmy her way under mammas belly. Like her mother she is incredibly curious, which causes some mischief around the stable. She has already tried to unlock her paddock fence, tried to untie her mother while she is being groomed, and is constantly trying to untie the staffs shoe laces and un do their jacket zippers. She has made a habit of smelling something before she touches it, which causes her to sneeze when she see's something new. Unlike normal foals, she is incredible brave, and has no problem wandering away from her mother as long as it entails adventure. But at the end of the day the pair can be found curled up together in the stall sound asleep.
Discipline: Since she is only a foal, the only formal training that she has had is learning how  be groomed and haltered by out staff. She has not been trained to lead yet, so she just follows her mother when she is lead out of the stall, and will even follow her when the children get on Tiny to go explore the property. We have plans for her to become a hunter and field hunter like her mother. Because of her bravery and conformation their is no doubt in our minds that she will be incredible successful in the show ring.
Tack: She is only a foal, so for now her tack includes a tiny blanket for those chilly nights and a little red halter.
Stable Colors: Red
Story Behind Name: Named after the adored  bedtime story that her barn name resembles, plus she can be a little nuts just like the characters in the story :)
